Briefing: Electoral reforms and JSCEM inquiry

The Stronger Charities Alliance invites you to an online briefing on electoral reforms and the inquiry by the Joint Standing Committee on Electoral Matters (JSCEM). The briefing will be held on Thursday, 2 October 2025, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. AEST. Briefing is open to charities registered with the ACNC and interested in advocacy during federal elections.

During the briefing, we will present:

• An overview of the impact of electoral reforms passed in February 2025 on the charity sector
• A discussion of the significant issue that the law now requires that only donations made for the specific purpose of incurring electoral expenditure can be used for that electoral purpose, and
• The Alliance's proposed submission to the JSCEM inquiry, along with suggestions on how members and other charities can contribute to the submission and the JSCEM process.
